Caring for a Hand-Painted Pair: The Whole Guide

The question every new owner asks first: can I actually wear these? Yes — emphatically. Every pair leaves the studio sealed and waterproofed precisely so the artwork can live on a foot instead of a shelf. Sealed is not invincible, though, and the difference is a handful of habits.

Cleaning is the whole game. A soft cloth, barely damp, wiped gently across the painted panels — that is the routine. Stubborn mark? Diluted mild soap, light circles, then wipe the residue away. The two killers are the washing machine and the soak bucket: half an hour of detergent and drum-flex will end artwork that years of streets could not.

Rain is a non-event: droplets bead and roll off the waterproof coat. Walk home, wipe dry, done. If a pair gets properly soaked, stuff it loosely with plain paper and let it dry at room temperature — never against a heater, never in direct sun.

Store cool, dry and out of sunlight; UV dulls even sealed pigment over months. Loosen the laces to take the pair off instead of crushing the heel.
