Design & Craft

14

Can I request any design?

Almost anything: names, anime, pop art, abstract, cultural themes, minimal patterns and more. If an idea isn't technically possible on leather, our artists will refine it with you into the best version of itself.

Can you recreate a design you've already painted?

Not exactly, and that's deliberate. Every pair is painted by hand as a one-of-a-kind, so a design made for someone else isn't repeated for anyone else. What we can do is take an existing piece as a starting point and paint you a new interpretation, related in spirit and different in execution.

Is it really hand-painted, or printed?

Hand-painted, every line. No stencils, no transfers, no printing. That is the entire point of the studio, and it's why a pair takes days rather than minutes.

Can someone else get the same design as mine?

No. Your design is painted once and then retired: we don't reproduce it for another customer, and we don't sell it as a stock design afterwards.

What happens to my design afterwards?

It stays yours in the way that matters: we don't repaint it for anyone else. We may photograph the finished pair for our gallery and social channels: if you'd rather we didn't, say so and we won't.

What are hand-painted sneakers, exactly?

A factory-fresh shoe used as a canvas: the finish is prepped, the artwork is drawn and painted freehand by an artist, then sealed and waterproofed so it survives being worn. The result is closer to a portrait than a product: painted by one hand, for one owner, and no two pairs ever come out alike.

Can you paint truck art on shoes?

It's one of the things we're known for: Pakistani truck art, phool patti, and the painted-lorry palette translated onto white leather by hand. See the Heritage collection in the gallery for finished examples.

Can I get anime or pop-culture shoes made in Pakistan?

Yes, anime frames, characters and pop-culture worlds are among our most commissioned briefs. Because every pair is painted freehand as an interpretation for one owner, yours will never be a copy of anyone else's.

Do you make wedding sneakers for grooms and brides?

Wedding pairs are some of the most personal work the studio does: names, dates, verses and motifs painted into a pair worn on the day and kept long after. Tell us the date early so the bench can plan around it.

Can couples get matching pairs?

Yes, commissioned together, painted as two interpretations of one idea rather than two copies. Each pair stays its own piece; the pair of pairs shares the story.

What does one-of-one actually mean here?

Painted once, then retired. We keep photographs for the archive, and we'll paint the same theme for someone else, but never the same composition. When your pair is finished, its design leaves the catalogue of possible things.

Is hand-painted better than printed or vinyl-wrapped shoes?

They're different objects. Print is a film sitting on the surface: it cracks along crease lines and exists in multiples. Paint is layered into prepared leather, flexes with the shoe, and exists exactly once. You choose print for an image; you choose paint for the only one.

Who paints the shoes?

Three artists, Rabail Ali Zaidi, Sarah Maqsood and The Kharazmi Sisters, each working freehand from your brief. Meet them on the Artists page; one of their hands holds every brush that touches your pair.

Can you paint calligraphy or names in Urdu on shoes?

Yes, Urdu and Arabic calligraphy, names, dates and verses are painted freehand and belong on leather the way they belong on a truck panel. Put the exact wording in your brief and we confirm the spelling with you before painting begins.

The Canvas & Fit

13

Which shoe do you paint on?

A Signature commission is painted onto a genuine, brand-new Nike Air Force 1 in your size, included in the price. A Bespoke commission is not painted onto a bought shoe at all: name any leather shoe in the world and the studio makes it by hand from the last up, then paints it. You can also ship us a clean pair you already own and we paint that instead.

Can you paint a pair I already own?

Yes. Choose “My own pair” when you commission and ship them to us. Tell us the condition and material first: heavily worn or synthetic uppers don't always hold paint, and we'd rather say so upfront than after.

How do I choose my size?

Use the size guide to measure your foot, then give us the size in your commission. We confirm your size with you before any paint touches the shoe, precisely because a painted pair can't be swapped like a stock one.

Can I return or exchange a pair?

Because every pair is painted to order for one person, commissions can't be returned or resold the way factory shoes can, which is exactly why we confirm both the size and the design with you before any paint touches leather. If you're between sizes, message us before ordering and we'll help you choose.

Do you paint Jordans, Vans, Converse or other shoes?

Three ways in. Our house canvas is the Nike Air Force 1. Through the "my own pair" route you can ship us a clean pair you already own (we confirm the model with you on WhatsApp first) and our artists paint that instead, for a flat painting-only price. And on a Bespoke commission we make the shoe ourselves, in leather, to whatever shape you name.

What sizes do custom Air Force 1s come in?

Whatever the shelf currently holds: the size menus across the site show only sizes we physically have as blanks, men's and women's. If your size is missing, a pair in a remaining size makes the most personal gift there is.

Do Nike Air Force 1s run big or small?

Most people wear their usual trainer size. Between two sizes, take the larger: a slightly roomy pair works with thicker socks; a tight one can't be fixed. The size guide has the full measuring method.

Can I exchange the size after delivery?

A painted pair can't be exchanged the way factory shoes can: the artwork was made for that shoe. That's why we confirm your size in writing before painting begins, and why the size guide exists. Unsure? Message us your foot length first.

Can you paint boots, loafers, brogues or other leather shoes?

Yes, and on a Bespoke commission we make the shoe as well. Name any leather shoe in the world, an Oxford, a Derby, a loafer, a Chelsea boot, a monk strap, and the studio builds it by hand from the last up, then paints your story onto it. Tell us the shape you have in mind and we will say honestly what we can and cannot do before you commit to anything.

Do you make the shoe itself for a Bespoke commission?

Yes. That is the whole difference between the two tiers. A Signature is painted onto a brand-new Nike Air Force 1 we buy for you. A Bespoke starts with no shoe at all: it is cut, lasted and finished by hand in leather chosen for the piece, and only then does an artist paint it. Nothing is bought in and repainted.

Can I choose the leather and the colour for a Bespoke pair?

Within what the bench can source and work honestly, yes: the leather, the finish and the base colour are all part of the brief. We confirm the exact combination with you in writing before anything is cut, because a leather that will not take the artwork is a problem worth catching early rather than late.

Can you paint suede, canvas or synthetic uppers?

Smooth leather is what we prefer and what our sealers are built for. Suede and canvas hold paint differently and cannot be finished the same way; most synthetics do not hold it well at all. Send us photographs of what you have in mind and we will tell you plainly whether it is worth painting rather than take the commission and hope.

How is a Bespoke leather shoe sized?

Not from a chart. Because the shoe is made rather than bought, we take your measurements before anything is cut: foot length, width and any fit you already know works for you. We confirm the sizing with you in writing, and it is the one part of a Bespoke commission we will slow down for.

Ordering & Payment

14

Can I send references or my own artwork?

Yes, and it helps enormously. Photos, screenshots, a Pinterest board, a rough sketch on paper, anything that shows the feeling you're after. The Design Studio is built for exactly this: gather references, tell us what matters, and our artists start from there.

How much does a custom pair cost?

A Signature commission is a flat Rs 45,000: a brand-new Nike Air Force 1, the artwork, sealing and tracked delivery, whether the design comes from our gallery or from a reference you bring. A Bespoke commission, where the studio makes the leather shoe as well as painting it, starts at Rs 60,000 with a final quote once we've seen your brief. The shoe, the leather, the coverage and the detail are what move that number. Painting a pair you ship us is less, since you already own the canvas.

Do I see the design before it's painted?

No, and that is deliberate. You commission the artist's hand, not a preview: our painters work freehand, straight from your brief. Put everything into the brief (colours, motifs, names, placement, references) and if anything needs clarifying, we ask on WhatsApp before a brush moves.

Can I change my brief after securing my pair?

Before painting begins, yes, message us on WhatsApp and we'll fold it in. Once paint touches leather the design is committed; paint on leather can't be undone.

How does payment work?

Orders are confirmed over WhatsApp. You choose how to secure the pair: settle it in full, or place a non-refundable Rs 5,000 reservation that holds your place on the bench and is credited against your pair. Either way the balance is paid in full before any work begins, because the shoe is sourced or made for your order and the design is built around your brief, so nothing about your pair is recoverable. Message us and we'll walk you through the current options for Pakistan and for international orders.

Where can I get custom Air Force 1s in Pakistan?

Here. Painted Juttay is a Pakistani atelier that hand-paints one-of-a-kind custom Nike Air Force 1s: no prints, no stencils, no repeats. Start from a design in our gallery or from a story of your own on the Create Your Pair page.

Do you do corporate or bulk gifting?

For teams and clients who deserve better than a branded mug: yes, within the limits of a hand atelier. Each pair is still painted individually, so bulk means a planned series, not a production run. Start on the Corporate page.

Why do custom sneakers cost more than the shoe itself?

Because the shoe is the cheapest part. You're commissioning an artist's hands for days (composition, freehand painting, layered curing, sealing) on a piece that will exist exactly once. The pair is the canvas; the art is what you're buying.

How do I order custom shoes online in Pakistan?

Three steps on this site: choose your direction (a gallery design or your own story), give us your size and brief, and secure your pair. Everything after that happens in one WhatsApp thread: details, payment, and photos of the finished work.

Is the reservation fee refundable?

No, it reserves your place on the bench, and a held slot is work other patrons couldn't book. It is credited in full against your pair.

Do you take cash on delivery?

No. Payment is arranged person-to-person on WhatsApp and settled in full before any work begins; nothing is paid on delivery. The only thing you can pay in advance of the full amount is the Rs 5,000 reservation, and that holds a bench slot rather than a shoe. We'll walk you through the current options when you order.

Can I buy a custom pair as a gift?

Some of the best briefs we've painted were gifts: a parent's portrait, a couple's date, a friend's obsession. You brief us in secret, we paint, they unbox. Tell us it's a gift and we'll keep the thread with you, not them.

What is the difference between a Signature and a Bespoke commission?

The canvas, not the artwork. A Signature is painted onto a brand-new Nike Air Force 1 at a flat Rs 45,000, either from a design in our gallery or from a reference you bring. A Bespoke is any leather shoe in the world, made by the studio from the last up and then painted from your own story, from Rs 60,000 with the final quote set after your brief. Both are painted by hand, once, for one owner.

Can I reserve a pair instead of paying in full?

Yes. At the end of the commission form you choose how to secure the pair: settle it in full, or place a Rs 5,000 reservation. The reservation holds your place on the bench and is credited in full against your pair, with the balance settled before painting begins. It is non-refundable, because a held slot is work other patrons could not book.

Delivery & Care

14

Will the artwork crack, peel or fade?

We paint with high-grade oil and acrylic paints and markers, then finish every pair with protective sealers and a waterproof coat. With normal wear and basic care the artwork will not crack, peel or fade.

Can I actually wear them, or are they display pieces?

Wear them. Everything is sealed and waterproofed to be worn on real streets: that's what the finish is for. They're art you walk in, not art you shelve.

How long does a commission take?

Most pairs are painted and sealed within 10–14 working days of your pair being secured, depending on complexity. In a hurry? A priority commission is finished in 5–7 working days for 15 per cent of the order total on top. Need a date guaranteed, a wedding, a birthday? Tell us the deadline and we will plan around it.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship worldwide with careful protective packaging, and across Pakistan with tracked domestic couriers. Duties and import charges outside Pakistan are set by your country, not by us.

How do I clean them?

Wipe gently with a damp cloth. Avoid machine washing and prolonged soaking. Every order ships with a care card.

Are they waterproof?

Every pair is sealed with a waterproof finish, so rain and splashes are fine. We'd still avoid submerging them or putting them through a wash cycle: no sealer survives that.

What if the artwork is damaged?

If the artwork chips, cracks or peels under normal wear within 30 days of delivery, we repair or repaint the affected area free of charge: you only cover shipping to the studio. Anything wrong on arrival is fixed entirely at our cost. Past 30 days, send us photos and we'll tell you honestly what can be restored.

Can I rush an order?

Yes. A priority commission is painted and sealed in 5–7 working days for 15 per cent of the order total on top of the standard 10–14. Layered paint still needs curing time between coats, so if a date is genuinely impossible we say so rather than promise and crack.

Do you deliver custom shoes in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad?

Every city in Pakistan, tracked door to door: Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, and everywhere the couriers reach. Worldwide delivery is arranged personally on WhatsApp.

How do I track my order?

Your order number works on the Track Order page any time, and the moment your pair ships you receive the courier, tracking number and a live tracking link.

Are hand-painted shoes waterproof?

Sealed and waterproofed, yes: rain beads and rolls off. Waterproof is not machine-washable: wipe with a damp cloth, never soak, and the artwork outlasts the argument.

Will the paint crack when the shoe creases?

Not under normal wear. The artwork is layered into prepared leather and finished with flexible sealant coats that bend with the shoe: creasing is designed for. The failures we ever see come from machine washes and soaking, not walking.

How long do hand-painted sneakers last?

Worn and cared for normally: years. Every order ships with a care card, and if your pair is ever damaged, message us before attempting a home fix: touch-ups are easy on artwork we painted ourselves.

Can I wear custom painted shoes every day?

They're made for streets, not shelves: that's the whole point of sealing. Rotate them like any good pair, keep them out of the washing machine, and wear the story out loud.
