Every pair that leaves Painted Juttay is painted by one of three artists, and it matters that you can name them. Art without an author is decoration; a commission signed by a hand is provenance you wear.

Rabail Ali Zaidi came through fine arts and architectural design, and it shows in how her compositions respect surface and form. She calls art the pull she eventually stopped resisting. Sarah Maqsood works in black and white ink with a tinge of colour, illustration that refuses to stay on paper. The Kharazmi Sisters move between handicrafts, painting and digital design, proof that a studio can live wherever the work does.
