Do You Pay a Deposit for a Custom AF1, or the Full Amount?

There are exactly two ways to secure a custom AF1 commission here, and no middle option beyond them: settle the full amount, or place a Rs 5,000 reservation. There is no split payment or instalment plan across the commission itself, and painting does not begin until the balance is paid in full either way, which is stated plainly in the studio's own terms of service.

The reservation is not a deposit in the sense of a partial commitment that could still be walked away from later. It holds your specific place on the bench, meaning the time and slot other patrons cannot book while it is reserved for you, and it is credited in full against your finished pair rather than being an additional cost on top. Once the reservation is placed, the balance is settled before painting begins, exactly as it would be if you had paid in full from the start.

It is also non-refundable, and the reason is the same reason a commission itself cannot be returned once painted, covered fully in what if you do not like your custom AF1: a held bench slot is real time and capacity that could not be given to another patron while it was reserved for you, so it cannot simply be handed back if you change your mind before painting starts.

Choosing between the two options is mostly a matter of your own preference for when you commit the full amount. If you are certain about your brief and ready to move forward, paying in full closes the decision in one step. If a seller anywhere offers to begin work before any payment, or offers an instalment plan spread across the painting itself, that is worth treating with real caution rather than relief, because it runs against the basic economics of a hand-painted, made-to-order pair: the materials and the artist's time are committed the moment painting starts, and there is nothing to recover if payment falls through partway through.
